The Best Annual Radio Wigwam Awards yet!

The 9th Radio Wigwam Awards and Grassroots Connect London with Melody Mover proved once again to be the biggest event of the year for artists and the Wigwam community – and we celebrated the very best in grassroots and independent music in style. Once again, the Bedford in Balham was the place to be – thank you to all those who came, took part, made connections and celebrated long into the early hours! Thanks to all our sponsors for ensuring we could make it happen!

Grassroots Connect London

As part of our two-day annual awards event, we held an unmissable day of networking and live music, designed to connect emerging artists with industry experts and like-minded creatives.

Radio Wigwam gave an evening that celebrated the global grassroots music scene.

Attendees were able share their voice, network with the community and witness brilliant live performances by some of the best Wigwam artists

We continue to connect with artists, venues, promoters, and music lovers from all over the UK — and to build something powerful together. Our aim? To grow the grassroots movement and amplify the scene.

Radio Wigwam at The London Welsh Centre supporting Wales Week London

Curated by Radio Wigwam, the evening showcased the very best of contemporary Welsh music, with three award-winning artists from the Radio Wigwam community took to the stage:

Lower Forces - Runner-up: Best Song of 2025 – Radio Wigwam Annual Awards

Caitlin Lavagna - Previous Best Female Solo Artist – Radio Wigwam Annual Awards

Matt Kiano - Pervious Best Male Solo Artist – Radio Wigwam Annual Awards

Brains Brewery partnered with Radio Wigwam for the event, delivering a full Brains takeover of the London Welsh Centre bar — the first venue to feature their new branding — alongside beer sampling, merchandise and giveaways across the evening. Completing the experience, Donald’s Pies were on site serving hot food — the perfect Welsh pairing with live music and Brains beer. Between performances, Radio Wigwam kept the atmosphere buzzing with Short films celebrating Welsh music and the Radio Wigwam community Live competitions and giveaways

Radio Wigwam Rocks The Firevolt Festival

Radio Wigwam — the official station of Firevolt Festival — returned to Etherow Country Park, Stockport, this year with not only our signature DJ sets, but also hosting the exclusive Grand Central Stage, which brought an extra surge of grassroots rock energy to the festival.

On Sunday, Wigwam artists Sonny Jim, Black Light Vice, Pale Strangers, and Battle of the Bands winners  Buried In Bermuda performed to an enthusiastic crowd of rock and metal fans in glorious weather.

Over on the main stage, another Wigwam favourite, Sonic Whip, delivered a thunderous, electrifying performance that had the audience roaring.

It was a powerhouse lineup of some of the hottest rock acts, set against the breathtaking festival backdrop of Etherow Country Park — a weekend brimming with energy, music, and atmosphere like no other.
